care
All functional wares are food-safe and tested for durability, making them suitable for the dishwasher, microwave and oven use unless otherwise noted.

Here are some guidelines to help your pieces last many generations:
-
Try not to expose ceramic pieces to sudden temperature changes, such as hot to cold. I recommend microwaving food and drink at short intervals to help warm up gradually. Allow casseroles to be at room temperature or preheat in oven before cooking.
-
Do not place pots with gold-lustre in the microwave.
-
Handwashing delicate wares, such as teacups, will help prevent potential collisions in the dishwasher.
sustainability & safety
I deeply care about a sustainable studio practice. Here are some ways I keep my footprint small:
-
All my glazes are made in-studio from raw materials that are sourced from as many Canadian or North American mines as possible.
-
Clay is recycled and reused.
-
Rain water is collected and reused in the warmer seasons.
-
Outdoor studio lights are solar powered. (Prospective indoor solar conversion planed for 2023).
-
Shipping and packaging supplies are recycled from local businesses.
-
Promotional material made from 100% post-consumer recycled paper.

All production wares are made for durability and food safety, in regards to the Canadian Regulation on Glazed Ceramics, and safe drinking water standards in North America.
All my glazes are lead-free and cadmium-free.
Works not suitable for food-use will be labeled accordingly, such as for all Raku and Smoke-fired pieces.
